When everybody is like suffering from epidemic of obesity today, many people are turning to yoga to lose weight. I, for one, frown upon artificial things or ways in losing weight. They have the tendency to backfire and give you back your pre-procedure body.

With yoga and right ways, you can never be wrong.

Why Yoga Can Aid in Losing Weight

It is because yoga addresses some internal workings of our body. It doesn?t only tones muscles but helps in detoxifying our body. Through this detoxification, we let go of fats and other toxins inside our system. So how does yoga attain it?

  • It helps in keeping liver strong. You stimulate the vital force of your liver through different poses. Backbends are the most advisable liver reinforce.
  • It activates the thyroid glands. Thyroid regulates our metabolism. If you have hypothyroidism, means you may suffer from weight gain. If thyroid glands are activated, you may correct this. Shoulder stand and fish pose are good with this agenda.
  • It creates the right Ph Balance. Fat protects the body from acids, if you are too acidic, then you may be producing far more fat than necessary. After some time this may prove bad to your health. In studies, it is found out that people struggling with weight are too acidic.
  • It helps in calming the nervous system. Body needs to be relaxed in order not to stress our system and lead to some chain reactions later.
  • It helps you gain strength. Yoga requires you to be active thus it may lead to weight loss. Muscles consume fat through active workouts.

And many more. I can?t enumerate them all here but you get the picture. Yoga doesn?t only help you attain spirituality but keeps you going through your life in a healthy manner. Yoga gives you control over your body and it helps you know who you are. Yoga is a self journey with losing weight as an added plus.

Many celebrities practice yoga. And Robert Downey Jr. seems to be the best example or now. And yes, he is a yogi. So, get this, if Ironman deems it necessary to have yoga in life, why won?t you?

Back to yoga and weight loss, it doesn?t mean though that you have to be dependent on yoga alone. Watch for your diets too as well as your lifestyle. That and your yoga enthusiasm will lead you to a much leaner and slimmer you.
