"John has been an integral member of the Asteco executive team for more than eight years now. Through his pragmatic approach, John has seamlessly set-up two of our three full service branch offices in the UAE, as well as giving his invaluable support to establishing groundbreaking joint ventures in Qatar and Bahrain," said Abdulla Bin Sulayem, CEO, Asteco.
"Asteco has over 27 years of property management experience already and I look forward to working alongside John to realise our vision as the Middle East's leading real estate company," he added.
Stevens joined Asteco in 2004, relocating from Asia Pacific, where he held senior management positions with Jones Lang LaSalle, working with a number of blue chip clients in the facilities management field. He also worked for CB Richard Ellis, where he established the company's Phuket operation, spearheading business development for managing a mixed regional portfolio of commercial and residential property.
"With the accent now clearly on safety, technology and sustainability, I am eager to face the challenges that lie ahead for all of Asteco's stakeholders as we move forward together into a new era of property management," said Stevens.
Asteco's ever expanding portfolio of managed properties consists of over 45,000 leases or approximately 3,500 buildings. The company manages a number high profile projects including the Rolex Tower, Maze Tower, Sama Tower, Oceana Palm Jumeirah and Nation Towers.
