LeBron James might wanna wait before he sizes a second finger for another NBA ring. The Los Angeles Lakers will have something to say about that in 2012-2013.
In a blockbuster sign-and-trade, the Lakers have acquired two-time MVP Steve Nash, dealing the Phoenix Suns a quartet of future draft picks and signing the future Hall of Fame point guard to a three-year contract.
Nash will now team with Kobe Bryant in pursuit of his first NBA championship and Kobe's sixth.
Citing the importance of remaining close to his family, the ever-classy Nash released a statement soon after the trade went down that thanked the Suns for their support and understanding.
"The Phoenix Suns are an amazing organization and fans should be excited about their future," he wrote. "I hope the Suns win a championship some day soon for all the amazing fans and wonderful people in the organization."
But - with a core of Nash, Bryant, Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol - Los Angeles is now a lot closer to that goal than Phoenix. Just how close? Are the Lakers now the title favorites? You tell us:
